11th Annual Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women
in Math
Registration:
The registration deadline is Friday December 12, 2008, or whenever all available spaces
are filled, whichever comes first: We are
now very close to capacity for the conference, and so the
registration page is no longer online. The remaining spaces
are primarily for undergraduate participants who would like
to give a talk or a poster. If you are interested in this,
please email Shannon Parry at sparry3@unl.edu.
In making your travel plans, remember that the conference starts at 3:30 on Friday,
January 30th and ends by noon on Sunday, February 1st.
Check-in for the conference will be available starting Friday January 30 at 1 pm at
the conference hotel: The Holiday Inn Downtown, at the corner of 9th and P Streets.
The conference starts Friday January 30 at 3:30 pm at Nebraska Union on campus (at
14th and R Streets, five blocks east and two blocks north of the conference hotel)
If you don't have time to check in at the hotel and walk to Union before 3:30, come
directly to the union. It will be possible to check-in for the conference at the
hotel later on Friday evening.
Special accommodations for disabilities, such as sign language interpreters
and large print materials, are available on request. Please email us at
ncuwm@math.unl.edu as soon as possible,
and by the December 12th registration deadline at the latest.
Cancellation:
If you decide you cannot come to the conference after registering,
let us know as soon as possible. We are buying accomodation and meals
for you. With timely notice, we can use these resources to benefit someone
else instead of throwing them away.
Please contact the Conference Administrator
as soon as possible.
Send a check for the registration fee of $30 ($20 for UNL students),
payable to the "University of Nebraska -- Lincoln".
The fee is due one week after you register and should be mailed to:
Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics
Center for Science, Mathematics & Computer Education (Attn: Shannon Parry)
University of Nebraska -- Lincoln
251 Avery Hall
Lincoln, NE 68588-0130
Complete the Final Details form once you have finalized your travel plans.
Accomodation
If you are arriving Friday and leaving Sunday, you do not need to call the hotel.
We will arrange (double occupancy) lodging for you. We will match you with a
roommate unless you and your roommate both request otherwise when you fill out
the Final Details page. You are responsible for incidentals, such as telephone charges,
movies, room service, etc., which must be paid at check out.
If you want a single room, you will be responsible for the additional expense, which
is $49 each day. Be prepared to present a credit card when checking in at the hotel.
If you are arriving before Friday or leaving after Sunday, then you will be responsible
for the additional expense, which you will need to pay when you check out.
You may, of course, request funding from the conference to
help cover this additional expense, but it will be handled as a reimbursement.
Again, be prepared to present a credit card when checking in at the hotel.
Travel Support To request travel support from the Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics, you need to do two things:
Arrange for your academic advisor or Department Chair to send an email to the same address explaining how much support your home institution is
able to provide.
Remember that your lodging expenses and most of your food expenses during
the conference will be covered by the conference.

Accomodation
You must make your own arrangements with the hotel. If you
are staying at the hotel between Jan. 28 and Jan 31, you can make your reservation
online, in which case you should use
our three letter group code: MAT.
If your stay extends outside of these dates, or you would
just rather talk to a person, you can contact the hotel directly at (402) 475-4011, and ask
for “in-house reservations.”
Be sure to indicate you are with NCUWM for the conference room rates.
You do need to call the hotel directly. The Holiday Inn
chain's central reservation system will not let you book rooms in the conference's reserved
block and will not offer you the conference rate.
All reservations must be secured with a credit card.
