Jan 17 Ken Davidson (of the University of Waterloo) Atomic Representations of 2-graph algebras
Abstract: The (nonself-adjoint) operator algebra associated to a 2-graph on
a single vertex is just an algebra generated by a finite number of
generators with special relations and a natural norm.
An atomic representation has an orthonormal basis on which the
generators act as partial isometries that permute the basis up
to scalar multiples.
I will explain how these arise, and how to classify the maximal
completely contractive ones.
This is joint work with Stephen Power and Dilian Yang.
