IMPORTANT

• Our NSF program office has recommended that NSF provide funding for the conference, and the funding award is now official. Thus the reimbursement rates below should be close to what we will actually be able to provide and perhaps we will be able to increase them somehwat.
• To help us in our planning, please let us know if you expect to request reimbursement, and an estimate of how much you will request. We will then let you know how much we expect to be able to give you.
• Also, as soon as you can please let us know whether you, your students, or any extra persons (spouses, children) will be attending the reception Saturday night. (See below). When you do this, please give us names so we can avoid counting people twice.
• If you ask for reimbursement, please fill out our expense log form. You will also need to fill out the top section of the UNL expense voucher form, and return both forms to us, with receipts.

More Information

• Lodging: We will make reservations for the speakers, and have their lodging billed directly to the math department. For other participants, we expect to reimburse your lodging for up to $60 in most cases for one night (two nights for participants from NDSU) for faculty and post docs, and $30 per night for graduate students (i.e., double occupancy). Most participants will be staying at the Suburban (formerly the Townhouse Motel), which has a rate of $50 per night. (The Suburban has blocked 25 rooms with 2 beds for KUMUNU at a conference rate of $50/night, under the name "UNL Math". In order to get this rate participants will need to call the hotel directly at 800-475-3111 or 402-475-3000 to book their reservation.)
• If you prefer fancier accomodations, we suggest either the Downtown Holiday Inn (10 rooms are blocked under the name "UNL Math") or the Embassy Suites hotel.
• Travel: We expect to reimburse car travel to/from Lincoln as follows:

                    Columbia and vicinity: $130 per vehicle
                    Iowa City and vicinity: $130 per vehicle
                    Lawrence and vicinity:  $90 per vehicle
                    Fargo and vicinity:    $190 per vehicle
  

  Obviously, this is less than the per mile rate allowed by the NSF; we may be able to increase these amounts some. In any case, we ask when possible that people carpool. This will reduce pressure on our pool of funding, and possibly allow us to reimburse drivers who car pool at a rate closer to the government standard.
• Meals: We will have a reception hosted at Roger and Sylvia Wiegand's house (2400 Sheridan) on Saturday evening (covered by department, not NSF, funds), to which all participants are invited. We also expect to provide a small continental breakfast (bagels, donuts, fruit) in Avery Hall on Sunday morning before the first talk. Note that lunch will not be provided on Saturday before the start of the conference, although some snacks will be available.
