Seminar and Colloquium Rooms in Avery

The Math Department frequently hosts outside speakers giving seminars and colloquia. This page is designed to give visitors a sense of the rooms in Avery where they will be speaking before they come to UNL.

351 Avery Seminar Room

Visitors in seminars most frequently speak in 351 Avery. The room seats 28 and has a computer projector and whiteboard. There is a document camera and hookup for a laptop; visitors can use their own laptop or a department laptop can be used.



115 Avery Colloquium Room

Colloquia are held in 115 Avery, our large lecture room that seats 146. The room has a wide whiteboard and two screens. There is a document camera, computer running Windows, Macintosh computer, and a hookup for a laptop. The screens can be independently controlled, with each being able to show any of the above four, or turned off and the screen raised so that the board may be used. The lights at the front are controlled together, and so need to be turned on for the board and turned off when using a screen. The Windows computer has Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and can display Adobe Acrobat PDF files.
