Text: Intermediate Algebra, 9th edition by Margaret L. Lial, John Hornsby, and Terry McGinnis.

Quizzes/Homework: Suggested homework problems for each section are listed below for your practice in mastering the material; the answers to all odd-numbered problems are in the back of the book. You are encouraged to work together outside of class, and to visit the MRC tutors for help. Homework will not be collected, however, short daily quizzes will be given to both test for understanding of the material and to reward those with good attendance. All students must abide by the college's expectations regarding academic quality and integrity.

Exams: Attendance is required for all exams. If you should miss an exam for an emergency you will be allowed to make it up only if you have notified me before the exam and it must be made up in a timely manner (to be discussed with me individually). I will give you at least one week notice before the exams. There will be four 50-minute unit exams, each worth 100 points, and one comprehensive final, worth 200 points. Note that the exam dates listed below and on the Course Schedule above are tenative, so please come to class to make sure the exam dates are the same.
