Text: Intermediate Algebra, 9th edition by Margaret L. Lial, John Hornsby, and Terry McGinnis.

Quizzes/Homework: Suggested homework problems for each section are listed below for your practice in mastering the material; the answers to all odd-numbered problems are in the back of the book. You are encouraged to work together outside of class, and to visit the MRC tutors for help. Homework due for collection will be assigned on Thursdays and be collected the following Tuesday. Every Thursday (except for exam weeks) will conclude with a 10-point quiz on the section/homework of the previous week's lectures. You will be able to drop the lowest quiz grade and then it will be scaled to 100 points. You can also drop your two lowest homework scores and then that grade will be scaled to 100 points. All students must abide by the college's expectations regarding academic quality and integrity.

Exams: Attendance is required for all exams. If you should miss an exam for an emergency you will be allowed to make it up only if you have notified me before the exam and it must be made up in a timely manner (to be discussed with me individually). I will give you at least one week notice before the exams. There will be four 60-minute unit exams, each worth 100 points, and one comprehensive final, worth 200 points. Note that on exam days, we will do 10 minutes of quick review at the beginning of class, unless the class would rather not cram any more information into their heads. Also, note that the below exam dates are tenative, so please come to class to make sure the exam dates are the same.
