Purpose and Participants

Meetings

Four meeting during the session at various times and locations.

Purpose

This is the third course in a three-semester Preparing Future Faculty program that introduces advanced graduate students to various faculty roles. This course introduces participants to distance education.

Grades

Grades are assigned on a pass/no pass basis.

Requirements

Participate in orientations and discussions of distance learning.

Thursday June 11 Orientation to teaching distance courses on the satellite, Bee Gatliff, 2:00-4:00 p.m. Mabel Lee 128

Wednesday June 24 Visit to a distance course taught by Catherine Mallett, 11:00-12:35 p.m., CBA 104. Stay after to discuss the course with the instructor.

Wednesday July 1 Orientation to teaching distance courses on the web, Marie Barber, Ben Laff, and David Allen, 2:00-4:00 p.m., Oldf 331.

Wednesday July 8 Talking with faculty constructing web based distance courses. Charles Ansorge and Robert Gorman, 1:00-3:00 p.m., Oldf 331
