FIRST MEETING WITH MENTOR: ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION

If at all possible, schedule the first meeting between August 31September 14, 1998.

  1. PFF Fellows may talk with the partner faculty about their educational background. Fellows may explain their teaching and research background, their professional goals, and why they entered the PFF program.
  2. Partner faculty may talk about their educational background. Faculty may explain their teaching responsibilities and research interests, their professional goals, and why they agreed to serve as a PFF mentor.
  1. Discuss the partner institution and department.
  2. Discuss useful activities that the PFF Fellow may participate in at the partner institution (see attached list of suggestions).
  3. Prioritize the list of useful activities.
  4. Complete the PFF Mentor/Fellow Partnership Agreement.
  5. Set a firm time for the next meeting.
  6. Exchange telephone numbers, email addresses, teaching schedules, office hours, etc.
