Journal assigments

1 Due September 2.
"Describe your prior experiences with mathematics, starting at time zero. You may describe your entire mathematical history, or if you prefer, you may discuss a shorter period (or incident) in more detail, depending on what is more interesting or informative. You may wish to write about things you, your parents, or your teachers did which made your experience better or worse. (from Judy Walker)

2 Due September 30.
"The first section of the class is finished. Take a moment to think about those forst three chapter we covered together and the first exam. Write your comments on the first weeks of this class. What topic or topics did you like the most? What do you like and dislike in this class? Are you satisfied with your grade? If not, what do you need to work on? Was your grade on the first test lower than what you hoped? As usual justify all your claims.

You are supposed to come and attend the lecture of Sir Michael Atiyah on the "Nature of Space". October the 21st, at 4:00pm at Kimball recital Hall.

 

Extra Credit

In this section some extra credit projects are posted.

1 Write a Journal on the talk of Sir Michael Atiyah on the "Nature of Space"( October the 21st, at 4:00pm at Kimball recital Hall). You may want to write a short bio and the main points of the talk. (20 points)

2 You can earn 10 points if you try at least 4 times the second web-based exam or if you score 100 points in less then 4 tries.(10 points)
