  • Geometric group theory, large groups of homeomorphisms of low dimensional spaces (particularly the R. Thompson Family of groups).
  • Decision problems in algebraic structures (generally groups and monoids); eg. word problem, membership problem, congugacy problem, etc.
  • Finiteness properties for monoids.
  • topological, symbolic, and sequential dynamical systems.
