| Contest Information |
We cordially invite your school to participate in the AMC 10 (American Mathematics Contest 10)
and the AMC 12 (American Mathematics Contest 12) to be held Tuesday, February 9, 2010 or Wednesday, February 24, 2010. More than 250,000 students
from over 4,000 schools participated in these contests last year. We truly hope that you will participate in this
year's contests.
2010 version of the Math Club Package is available to aide in student preparation. This will include a Club Advisor's Handbook, including 50 new Problems,
presented in the same format as the Student Practice Questions in the back of the contest Teacher's Manual.
In addition, we plan to have web based resources such as a mini quiz of the month and a question of the week for club use.
There are two official contest dates: AMC 10/12 A to be written on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 and
the alternate AMC 10/12 B contest given two weeks later on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.
Students are allowed to take a test on both contest dates but only one test per date (for example,
a 10th grader could take the AMC 10 A and AMC 10 B, or a 10th grader could take the AMC 10 A and the AMC 12 B,
or a 12th grader could take the AMC 12 A and the AMC 12 B). All rules and awards apply to both contests for all
schools and students. As a result, we will no longer have the two unofficial "window" days after the official day for taking the contests.
Students will be allowed to take the contest booklets home with them the day of the test.
If you have any questions or comments about the online registration
process, you may call the AMC office at (800) 527-3690.
There is a registration fee for each exam, but early registration will yield substantial savings. The registration
deadlines and fees are listed below, as well as the prices of exam bundles, solution sets, and shipping.
