The requirements to qualify for the Ph.D. program were changed by a vote of the graduate faculty in April, 2011. Students entering the program in Fall 2011 or earlier may choose between the "old rules", as described in the August 2010 version of the Degree Requirements (GIOGP), and the "new rules", as described in the August 2011 version of the Degree Requirements (GIOGP).
