Tenure Track Position in Modern Analysis

Positions: One tenure-track Assistant Professor position, Department of Mathematics, College of Arts and Sciences.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in mathematics and outstanding potential for research and teaching in mathematics. Preference will be given to applicants whose research program is in an area of modern analysis that complements or builds upon existing departmental strengths.

Starting Date: August 2008

First Review: Review of applications will begin December 7, 2007, and continue until a suitable candidate has been selected.

Duties/Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics. The ideal candidate will be able to establish a strong, independent research program in modern analysis. Applications from entry level people as well as from people with prior postdoctoral experience are encouraged.

Salary/Benefits: A competitive starting salary will be negotiated. UNL makes available life, health, and long-term disability insurance programs as well as family coverage at reasonable group rates to the employee. TIAA/CREF and/or Fidelity Investment Fund are offered as retirement plans.
